Not sure on your 201 but on my 188, I remove the drivers seat and there's an access hole to get to the tank.

on my 1998 201 I had to remove drivers seat. The seat is held in place with "Velcro strip". Be gentle trying to loosen seat or you may pull the screws out. My gas tank had carpet covering the access hole which I had to cut out. when seat is reinstalled the back of seat will cover hole. As far as hose diameter I don't know.

The bottom of the seat is normally secured with 4 screws, two on each side, and the back is secured behind the center portion which is secured by velcro. You will have to pull the center portion out to gain access to the screws. There should be a cut out behind each seat. I believe the main fuel line is connected behind the passenger seat. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

When I inspected my main fuel line on my '01 201, which I believe is a doubled wall fire and alcohol retardent 3/8" I.D. hose. It was still in good shape and clean as a whistle on the inside. That hose isn't cheap so you may want to inspect it first before replacing it. The manual states the gas line diameter is 3/8 - 5/16. I ran regular Napa 3/8" gas line from the bulb to the motor which I removed a 1/4" splice between two sections of 5/16" hose. So far so good.

Here's a pic of the cross section of hose that I replaced:

Trust me, if you don't have the new ethanol-resistant approved fuel line-ALL OF IT looks just like that picture by now. Either the 5/16" or the 3/8" works fine. Check and clean any fuel line filters as that brown looking stuff in the picture flakes off and heads towards the motor.
