Thumbs Up New Baits Arrived... Now for Spring to Get Here

On my last day of work at the old job, my coworkers got me a cake, card and had rounded up $125 on a Cabela's gift card... Finally spent that the other day and picked up some things. Got some Shorty Showerblows, LT Gills and a Spro 30 Rat. Here is a pic of the Gill and the Rat.
The gill is 3.5" and I think LT could easily make a 5" version of it.
    Here is the lure porn

Considering it didn't cost me any money not really...
The Shorty Showerblows is one of the best topwaters I have thrown and rat baits are proven fish catchers.

    Congrats on the new job.
That Live Target BlueGill is going to be a killer bait.

Gonna be in the upper 50's to low 60's here in KY this weekend... heading to the lake!!

As for that Gill bait, the Cabin Bait and Tackle has one that is hand sized, I was told it retailed for over $100!!!! I quit looking!! Wouldn't touch it either!

Have fun, catch a lot of fish!!

Funny you posted about them. I actually threw them today just messing around. They walk VERY easily and will almost glide if you work them just so. Hardly took on any water. Casts well too. I threw both sizes though I doubt I will ever use the smaller version. I bought it by mistake. Great looking baits and as you mentioned the detail is unreal.

Mercer was throwing the bluegill on his fishing show recently. Of course the fish was crushing it but not sure if those shows are the best place to get good info

Did you try skipping them? If so, how would they compare to skipping a normal frog?

that size 30 rat is gonna kill'em!! did well with the 50, missed alot of fish due to its size i think. fish should be able to inhale the small rat..
