Blinker trim wiring?

I am having trouble finding the existing wires to to splice into for the trim system. Has anyone done this and can give me some pointers in finding them? It's a 2006 ranger 188vs if that helps.

I removed my shifter control and traced the wires.

should run into the harness near where they go into the gunnel access. Follow them from the switch into the loom

Do the wires go aft from the shifter control? I did some research and some people are using the wires from the bow trim switch. Will the wires actually be under the steering console or just run down the side of the boat?

Under the console. They will go both ways...bow and stern. Just find the right colors, test with volt meter and splice.

I finally found the wires, they were all wrapped in electrical tape. I had to trace them from the throttle to figure that out. Finally done and works well. Thanks for the help.
