    Gas coming out fill cap

I have a 96 viper cobra 201d that I recently filled with gas and put back in my garage. I filled it when it was cold and when it warmed up gas started pushing out the fill cap. I didn't think I overfilled it, I just let the pump kick off and took it out. Is this just simple expansion or do I have some other problem. Thanks, Jay.

Re: Gas coming out fill cap (Missouri Jay)

Jay, mine leaks out the cap all the time when I'm above 3/4 of a tank and towing. When I first bought my boat, I thought I had a defective one, so I replaced it and the new one leaked too. My friend has a Champion with the same cap and it leaks too. I just keep the area around the filler well waxed and don't worry about it too much anymore.
