need help with motor on my cobra

I have a 95 150 evinrude intruder on my cobra. It has been in the shop 4 times at 2 diffrent places still loads up and dies when I try to open it up. It would die when I was trying to run it up on the roller on my trailer. I have a new power pack, carbs rebuilt, new vro pump, new bulb and new plugs. It will only run out at 4700 rpm. It would usually run 5000 -5200 rpm. Is there a adjustment on the carbs they do not have set right, or something in the fuel system causing it to loose pressure. I have spent a small fortune on it and still no answers from the repair shops. Thanks for any info or anything that I can check myself. Tired of the wait at the shops and the run around.

Someone here may be able to help, but you might want to post this over on the Evinrude site.

ok...few thing i need from you.. did the prop get replaced or worked on since then? also is the tech you have workin on it have the special tool that adjusts timing?. and only a 60 degree engine of yours uses this tool..also he needs to know the proper way too (sync and link ) the engine.. then when all of this is done run the crap out of it.. then pull the plugs .. see if there wet or black .. key point here is outboard engines loved to be over revevd . never lug a engine (over prop pitch). over proping causes detonation/ engine fuel spit back/ and all sort of stupid things will go on the will drive you crazy.. and one last thing..go run the boat on a remote fuel tank..( 6 gallons) dont go far.. .. give it a try..let me know what happens .

Is this as soon as you start the motor or only after it heats up? I had the same problem on my 93 intruder and the problem everyone classifies it as "heat soak". there is an EASY fix to it. If its only when the motor warms up, let me know I can help or check over in the evinrude forum.. thats where i found my fix.
