Hey,
I am going to be installing a fuel flow sensor on my 225HO and wondering if anyone has ever had them fail or clog up? Is it necessary to install a filter ahead of it?
Thanks

i put a racor 10 micron in front of my Lowrance ep-10 unit.
I plan on doing the same with my new 225 HO. I have been told by my dealer to place a inline fuel filter before the sensor.
Good luck

If your 225HOs are Etecs they have a built in fuel flow sensor.
If there built in how do you access them to your lowrance net. What year did brp start that ? Mines an 06
yeah... what he said.... i have Lowrance in-line in mine... didn't know E-tec had one... neither did dealer if it is there... Todd???

There's a harness from brp that goes from the engine to your lowrance network. On my 150HO I get fuel flow, temp, h2o pressure, tilt, and a few other things. Somebody on here should be able to give you the part number.
Do you remember how much that harness cost? Did you install it yourself?
It was about $40 and takes about 10 minutes to install. It just plugs into a harness on top of the motor, the hardest part is routing the cable back to the boat.
The fuel flow sensor has to be installed in the fuel line and interfaced with the Canbus network. Without a fuel flow sensor the E-TEC's brain (EMM) will provide fuel flow information (gph) as an estimate. It is however a very precise fuel injection system and the flow rate provided will be accurate. Having the fuel flow sensor installed will provide some additional information like seasonal fuel use etc. It allows the system to have a memory of the fuel used until you reset it. If you only need to know gph, you can install an EMM harness that you need to purchase and program the Lowrance display or gauge to show that information.
A BRP dealer can provide you with the EMM harness.

Whoa!!! This is news to me. I wonder why my dealer didn't tell me that my 225 HO has a built in fuel flow sensor. How does your sensor store the seasonal fuel used data. Did you need to add an additional lowrance sensor or is this information stored in the 225 internal computer. Thanks

Do all E-tecs have built in fuel flow sensors? I would like to know if there is an easy way for me to get this information on a display. Gallons/hour is all I would need.

For seasonal and trip fuel I had to add an LMF-200 gauge. My LMS-332C could display fuel flow but nothing about fuel used.
there is an option on the fuel used. when i first installed the sensor, i was only getting gpm, I then called lowrance and they sent out a software upgrade to me and that fixed some of the issues and allowed me to show fuel used as well.

TTT Anyone have a part numbers for this. (BMC -> Lowrance)

Gary,
Only the V4 and V6 E-TECs have the capacity to show fuel flow on a NMEA 2000 network.
You have inline 60hp motors which cannot. You would have to install a fuel flow tranducer and gauge to monitor comsumption.

Will it work on a 02 225ho ficht? If not then does the I_command gauges?
