Rusty! 225 H.O. Oil Build up on bottom plug....

    Rusty:

Yesterday I noticed what looked to be HD-50 oil on my cavitation plate. I removed the cowling and saw a thick build up of oil around the bottom left plug.
I pulled the plug and the firing portion looked normal. The plug was tight but between the plug wire cap and the metal 5/8 portion was covered with oil to the point that it was dripping down the shroud onto the lo-unit.
I couldn't tell where the oil was leaking from.
Last weekend I did a tremendous amount of idling. The last 3 or 4 tournaments I put an average of 80 miles each tournament.
Should I be alarmed? What should I do?
    I have some pics. [IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

    THANKS!

    Worried on the bayou!

Billy, get a new set of plugs....from the pictures I guess its a 90 degree V-6 (you didn't post a model number) I would get the QC10WEP Champions gap them a 0.028 index and torque them to the proper values listed in the service manual....

Looks to me like that plug has not been tightened to proper spec's.

Thanks! I will order a set today and make sure they are gapped & torqued to spec.
