I thought I would be on Easy Street by now but somehow I missed the off ramp!
Sorry Larry, My 216 was for sale but not now. I am going to keep it for a while
There's an 05 216 over on The Bass Fishing Home Page.
Thanks for the heads up Tom, but I already contacted him last week or I should say he contacted me. Appreciate the heads up as I rarely get over to the BFHP.![]()

Ok Larry I can't resist anymore.
I saw this post and said yea I have a 216 to sell but not until I know what is going on with the company. I am signed on to be a part of the Strike Team and even have my picture on the web site. Of course this all happened before the "Chip era".
Last I heard talking with Charlotte several months ago the plan was to be in a new Cobra each year to keep your status on the Strike Team. (Similar to all pro staffs)
I keep updated on the company through this web site and sometimes can't believe what I am reading but always keep hope that the company will come back.
Truefully you would have to pay me double what my snake is worth for me to sell her right now. This is the best boat I have ever owned for meeting my needs in a boat. The only negative I have about her is that I wish the dealer that I bought it from would have let me know what was going on with the company at the time. But I should have investigated that for myself.
This boat turns alot of heads and for good reason. I love promoting the boat just wish we could sell more of them. If your buyer would like to see pictures of her they can go to http://www.muskyhunt.com and see her.
I guess this is more of a "wish the company was in business reply" than a "have a boat to sell" reply. I'm sure you understand.

Darrin...my fellow Cheesehead Wisconsinite...well I was from Wisconsin until I moved to Mountain Home last Nov. Anyway, I think you're safe. I haven't heard of any Cobra's falling apart latelyand if any of the options on the boat fail, those carry their own warranty from that particular manufacturer.
As far as the Company is concerned, I believe they will be back in business very shortly. (I had been told it might be the first week in May but it looks like it will now probably be toward the end of the month). The buy/sell agreement is on the attorney's desk and they are going over it with a fine tooth comb (as one would expect). Chip really did a number on Cobra and the new ownership is making sure just exactly what is what. (It's not as if they are going to a car lot to pick out a vehicle)...these things take time, much to the chagrin of all the Cobra owners. Just hang in there a little longer! The new owners are going to invest a lot of money and they plan on being in it for the long haul. I know they are going to make a few changes to the top cap but I don't think they will be in a big rush to start producing boats right away until everything is just the way they want it. The first order of business will be to try and gain some of the respect back that Cobra once had with their suppliers and vendors, then it's marketing/advertising, dealer floorplanning, etc.
Personally if I were you, since you like the boat so much, I'd hang on to your Snake boat a little while longer!![]()

Not to worry Larry. I'm not selling my boat and I have no plans on switching to a different boat company anytime soon. There is not a boat out there that compares to the 216 with all of the options, storage, length and beam. For my guide business there is nothing that comes close for fishability for my clients.
In the future I have big plans for tournaments as well as the guide business and it surely involves COBRA. I look forward to the day that I can sell mine and be on way to pick up my new one.
Fishing opener is this weekend here in Northern Wisconsin, the week can't go by fast enough. The Snake is polished and ready to go for another season of guiding, tournament fishing and family fishing.
Good luck with your fishing this season. I will be watching the board to read about the updates to the company. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help promote COBRA.
Thanks, Darrin
Darrin, Thank You very much. Your post means a lot to me personally. Your efforts don't go unnoticed around here and we are blessed to have a Cobra owner such as yourself.
I will keep you posted and updated as to the goings on with the company as info becomes available to me. The lastet word....as of yesterday.....a couple more weeks.![]()
Sansman81 from California, I'm moving to Texas in 1 month and I have to sell my 2002 216 w/ merc 225 opti, wish I didnt have to but I do, dont know what you guys get for then back there but out here if I dont advertise for it, I'll sell it for $ 23,600 firm if I have to advertise it price will go up. I hope this helps I have pics. let me know. Sansman81
Sorry Big John, the prospective customer I had found one already. You should get ahold of the board owner (Al Shields) and list your boat for sale on the BBC board...that forum gets more "hits" a day than any other forum here and quite a few boats have been sold off it. Also, you should consider going into your profile and listing your e-mail addy. Folks can't get ahold of you if it is "hidden." Cobra's are very popular in Texas and you should be able to sell it there without too much trouble. Good luck!![]()

Sans,
What part of Texas are you moving to? I have a buddy that has a 190 and is looking to go to a 201 or a 216. Pics? Let me know and I may be able to "hook you up"!
