Bass Boat Owners Viper Message Board is closing

Please note that this announcement is regarding the Bass Boat Owners message board, and NOT the Bass Boat Central message board. The BBC Viper board will continue as it has in the past.

It has been fun working with Kevin, discussing Vipers tips and tricks with everyone, making new friends, and running the "other" message board, but the BBO message board is just not serving it's purpose any further. So, due to the lack of activity, it has been decided that the Bass Boat Owners (Viper) message board will be closing on September 30th.

Members who have boat pics posted there, may download those pics and transfer them to this or any other site if they wish.

Good luck Viper Owners, and thanks for the opportunity to be your "Sherrif".

Greg, sorry to see the "original" Viper Board go down. I guess it was just a matter of time since it wasn't receiving very many "hits" lately. You did an excellent job as the board "sheriff" and I'm sure the many people who visited the Bass Boat Owners Viper Board gained a great deal of insight from your posts. I know how time consuming being a board moderator can be and understand your decision awhile back to ease your time restraints. You're a mighty tough "sheriff" to emulate...but thanks for setting the standard so high! Thanks for your time and dedication. Don't be a stranger to BBC.

Sheriff....You have done one fine job on the BBO. Thank You for everything. All good things must come to an end and if it weren't for that board, I wouldn't know any of you people today. I have made new friendships all over this country because of your boards and I truely thank you for that.

And Greg, don't be a stranger around here because I for one do miss you. Stop in from time to time just to say hey. Take care Sheriff

Re: Bass Boat Owners Viper Message Board is closing (Greg Heinz)

Are there any "classic" posts that might be worth saving? I know I used Cleveland's detail post twice to polish my Cobra. I have it saved now! That method keeps my boat looking great! There's got to be others. Anyone?

Thanks for providing a 'den' for the Snake owners, Greg.

Re: Bass Boat Owners Viper Message Board is closing (MigAz)

Mig, that is why I wanted to give 30 days notice, so anyone who wants anything could save it on their personal computers. Like you, I have the Cleveland tips, they are very valuable. Just for record, I also saved the members info post. That may come in handy if I need info on a boat similar to mine. I saved a few others relating to my specific boat.

Larry you might consider an "archive" post over here for some of that info (like Clevelands tips). I guess it's possible for anyone to copy/paste anything they would like into this board. I don't think anyone would have an objection to that.

I would also like to thank Kevin and Al for hosting these sites and everyone who posts, for making that (and THIS) such a great place to exchange Viper/Venom tips. And Larry, thanks for the "pin".

I'll try to post more over here. Thanks for everyones kind words, both posted and emailed.

    Greg.

Can someone post the link to Bass Boat Owners... I would like to read through a few posts and save any "valuable" information myself!

    Thanks

    Thanks for the link!

It has been running decent... as long as I make sure the intakes don't get clogged with all the debris on the water! I still need to do some playing with the prop, engine height, etc... Only getting about 62 gps. But I really hate to run up and down the lake playing at WOT with gas prices the way they are!

    Ok, Al, here's number 12.

You are correct, I've really got to get out more. I know many of the posters, so I guess I should spew forth my BS, more than I have been.

    I'll work on that.

On a good note, I'm finalizing plans for the new home for my SSSSake (translation: I'm building a garage for my boat). I'll keep everyone posted on the progress. It's been killing me to leave her outside.

I'm assuming there should be an "N" in SSSake??

How large is the new garage going to be?

Yep, there should have been an "N". Sometimes my fingers type faster than my brain.

New Garage is 28' wide by 32' deep. Boo-yahhhh

    Greg,

Just an idea, since it is for the snake-maybe you ought to call it a "den" instead of a garage. Put a sign over the door "Caution - Snake Habitat".

Lets see some pics when you are done!

Will do on the pics. I like the naming idea, but have to see what the "other half" thinks of it. :)

Congrats on the new garage (Snake Pit), Greg. You're gonna love it. I am building a new 30X30 for my baby. Can't wait! I'll probably live out there, since it will be insulated, have tv, heat/ac and a big beer 'fridge!!

Glad to see you here on BBC. It's the best site ever!
