2002 Optimax 225 - performance tips??

Hey Guys, just got back to Mercury and would like to hear any tips you guys have for top end performance tweaks.
I remember reading somewhere a while back that you could modify the cowl (drill holes?) on some models, but don't remember where I read it or what model. ??

What's a good starting point for setup on a Cobra 201? It currently has a new Trophy 26" but I'm thinking that I'll want a Tempest. Pitch suggestions?
