Took the boat in Tuesday. Got an e-mail from my dealer who told me a new powerhead and injector was on the way. Shouldbe back on the water next week. If this holds true I'll be praising BRP from here to eternity!!!

My '06 225 HO blew in March with 60 hours on it. I took mine into a dealer on a Monday and got it back the following monday. You shouldn't be down long. How many hours did yours have on it and which piston did it eat?
Not sure of the piston #'s. It was the top left piston (facing the back of the motor). Dunno how many hours either other than it was a lot. We bought the motor in March of 2005. We fish at least once a weekend from April through October plus some week long excursions every year. It was definitely used!
Did you ever find out what was the reason yours blew? Just curious.
That would be #2 piston you lost, glad BRP took care of you.

Thanks!!! But you're not as glad as I am. I couldn't be happier with the service.![]()
I've heard a lot of mention of the #2 cylinder. Is there some underlying theme there?

I had heard that too, but also thought they had a fix for the problem. You might want to ask the question and make sure you have the latest EMM firmware.
Surely some of the dealer ETEC guru's would chime in on this.....
Glad they are taking care of ya. Good luck on your trip.

When mine blew (53 hours) it was the bottom piston on left facing the motor and my dealer told me that BRP would not tell him what went wrong. He also told me that he has had 3 225 E-Tec's (including mine) and all three were set to the xd100 setting. When I got mine back I changed back to xd50 setting.

Although I have hear of some failures on the net, our company has NOT had one E-Tec power head failure. We have addressed a few things here & there but No Power Heads.

My dealer told me the story. However I don't know if it's factual or not so I'm just gonna keep my mouth shut.
I do believe the problem has been corrected though!![]()

With the net it's hard to distinguish the factual from the fiction but I look at all of the information out there to know what is going on in the E-Tec World as well as whats going on it the rest of the marine industry.
Sorry, this is a follow up to the blow up from last week. My serial # is 05111160 and it's a 2005 200 HO E-Tec. I'll bump the original thread so you can see the whole story.
