Trolling motor on a 496?

Guys I run A 496 AND currently have a 101 minn kota that I LOVE!! Well even though I love my TM it crapped the bed. A friend of mine has a brand new 80lb fortrex in the box that he is going to give me a smoking deal on. Do any of you guys have a 80 on the 496 or do we all agree that the 101 is the way to go. I really like the idea of saving like $600 so any input is appreciated. Thanks

I have an 87 MG on my 596couch and have never had any issues. But I don't fight current or a lot of wind.

I wouldnt hesitate on taht motor. A NEW Fortrex....shouldnt be a problem. My buddy pushes his 21 Ranger with MK 80lb Maxxum.

101 would be ideal...but 600$ off is nice. And the Fortrex is the shit.
