I've not ridden in one, but all the Chargers ride great in rough water.

the 170 will ride as good as any 17 or 18 footer out there.I had one for 4 years and never had a problem with it.used it a lake of the ozarks and it handled the big waters pretty good.with a 150 yami it would hit 65 loaded down.

Thanks. I saw one for sale at a reasonable price and I was thinking about getting it. Touch of Class, how fast would it go with just you in it and not loaded down (just curious)?

I have a 1997186 TF with a Suzuki 150 and it runs in the mid 60's with full tank of gas, 2 people, and tourny gear. Oh and it is for sale.

with a hot 150 on the back you will see 68 with no load and maybe 70ish with a good prop and and a 6 inch plate .those boats were light 1100 lbs and short so they would fly.I out ran 200s all day long and some 225s.Man those were the days. Mine had a yami with some hydro tech massaging,it would pull a 25 m to 6100 and low 70s light.I never played with props on it as it ran just fin e with the 25m.Hole shot was about 3 sec to 30 ,Boy that was a fun boat to play with.My buddy had a 225 on a 20 foot ranger and when I went by him ,he said holys@&$ that thing flys

Re: Question regarding the Charger 170 (TOUCH OF CLASS)

It had two live wells, one in the front that was hugh and one between the driver and pass it was also big.if you filled the front one it would handle rough water really good(moreweight up front)but killed the speed.the back one was big enough to hold 5 fish.

I also saw a 195 and a 395 for sale. Any difference in the the rough water ride between the two.

Re: Question regarding the Charger 170 (Sports1)

o ya ,the 195 and 395 will out ride it by a mile, the 195 is one of the best riding 19 footers out there .It will out ride most 20 footers and with a merc or yami 200 on it it will run also ,low 70s is what it will run.The rudes will be high 60s.
The 395 is wider and with a 225 you will see mid 70s with a 8 inch plate. The ride is about the same as the 195,but both will run faster and handle better than the 170.

Re: Question regarding the Charger 170 (Sports1)

The 95 Charger is a bit high IMHO however the 2003 is pretty much a steal. I just sold my 97 Charger 186 TF for 7K and if I hadn't of bought a 2002 Triton last month I'd be driving to Dallas right now.
