Gentlemen,
I have a 1994 200 HP Evinrude Vendicator model #- E200STLERK and serial #-G05326804. I had an oil pump failure which lead to scaring of piston walls, and the motor is now in the shop for a complete overhaul. When my oil pump failed I was only given one audible warning at idle, and never another audible alert. Since this failure I am leery of the oil ingection system and I'm considering having it disconnected and just mixing the oil in the gas at the pump. Does anyone have an opinion on why I should or shouldn't do this? The guys at the shop said it was a decision I would have to make, but said once a new oil pump was installed I wouldn't have to worry about it anymore. What's ya'lls suggestions?
