Got my new 8" hydro JP on and set at 3" below pad. Whole different boat, rides better and takes the rough stuff better. Dealer had it rigged wrong with a 6" JP. Called the factory and was told that the 396 required an 8" JP. Contacted the dealer and they were great, they agreed they rigged it wrong and took care of everything in a timely manner. While I had it there I had a gauge installed for the JP, didn't have one before. Therefore I had no idea where I was in relation to the pad, now I do and all is right with the world. After a year and a half, I'm happy with my boat.

In all the testing the bigger plates 8 and 10 have been the best,glad to got it worked out.

I tried mine with a 25'' fury 225 pro xs 1'' below pad with 8'' plate & it did not like it that high, lost almost 8 mph.

Currently (WAS) at 2-1/2 below pad & 5650 rpm I was at 69.9 gps with Fury 25'' pitch at 3800 ft elevation, I just want to be able to go lower in elevation with same prop & I wonder what I will pickup.

Yesterday 5-13-10 @ 2-7/8 below pad I got 70.6 so I raised speed a little, same prop & rpm.

I lowered it today to 3.5" below & hope that Fury will give more down there, may be a couple weeks before I post results after returning from a AZ. trip.
