34 mile run at Lake Falcon

I just made a 34 mile run on Lake Falcon, in South Texas, in my new (to me) Charger 496, and I was very pleased. It is indeed a "big water" bass boat, and rides much smoother than the 21 ft. Ranger I rode in there last week. I am very proud to own a Charger boat. One thing, though, and I am hoping for some advice. My trolling motor keeps throwing a 40 amp. shortstop breaker if I run it on high for about five seconds. What should I trouble shoot, or should I just replace it, possibly with a slightly higher amperage? Thanks for the help.

bigger amp glad to hear you like it,every body that i give a ride to they cant believe the difference in the ride, and those were owners of ranger, basscat, etc and even runabout owners .when you trim that big deep v into the water it will cut through the roughest fresh water you can find.in fact i go to lake of the ozarks a lot in the summer and look for the roughest water out there it still amazes me how well they do ride even after 15 years and 3 different chargers.

Other than that I would say check your connections at the battery as well. Also feel if the head unit feels hot. There could be a short in the head unit. If there is a short it should blow the 50 as wel.
