Here are some more pictures of my rig. I plan on doing some upgrades.(New Carpet, new switches and panels, custom rod holder, new Lowrance units, and more) But I think first think I need to do before I start dressing her up is to get her set up right. I have the mercury quicksilver jackplate and I have heard horrible things. I want to get a Bob's or a Hydro dynamics rapid jack but I have heard conflicting things on this board. Some say get an 8" and some say a 10". Any clarification and reasoning behind it would be very much appreciated.

Yea, that looks like the Mercury Para-Lift. I had one on my old boat but i had no problems. I traded mine for a Trolling Mtr.

Rubber trim is coming off in many compartments, I need to get more.

Nice 188, I have an 03 as well. Great boat and super fishing platform. I do wish I had a dual axle trailer though. BTW I'm from Amite, LA, my parents still live in the area in Hammond. Maybe I can look you up when I come visit the next time. And when your near Lake Fork, please hit me up.

Definitely get a 10 inch.
