    225 johnson compression

I posted a few weeks ago that my compression was low on my 1989 225 johnson(225laed) and the guy doing the work said I needed to over haul. I had some folks answer my post and told me to run some seafoam through it that the cylinder walls could have carbon build up causing the rings to stick. I really didnt check my compression myself. I ran the de-carb in it and took it back and had it tested again and my high was 92 and my low was 80 on one cylinder the rest ran around 86. My question is the compression okay or should I be concerned?

Dont really know if his compression gauge was right the first time it looked like he bought a new one.

    Re: 225 johnson compression (Bigb201)

I think you found.....your tech may want to rethink rebuilding you motor.

I would look inside the low compression cylinder, head gaskets are cheap.
