    Primer bulb going flat

Fished a tournament today and every time I stopped, even if it was for five minutes, I had to squeeze the primer bulb to get going again. It would be flat. Have never had this before - usually pump once at dock and good for rest of the day. 1994 Jounson 200hp. Any ideas where to look?

Anti-siphon valve sticking on the fuel tank is a possibility.

Dirt dauber's nest in gas tank vent is a possibility.

If you can't run with the big dogs, just stay on the porch.

If there were a problem in the tank, would it not starve the engine and show up at high speed as if running out of gas ?

True but, how long do you run it at WOT? What was mentioned are just suggestion of problematic possibilities.
Also, you can check for air leaks between the fuel / water separator and the primer bulb. If the bulb is sucking flat, I would suspect the first two possibilities. If it is just getting slack and loosing prime, I would check for an air leak between the bulb and tank. Other than that I will have to leave it up to them (young boyz) gurus.

Re: Primer bulb going flat (DoferGofer)

Ran WOT for about 8 - 12 minutes. It is not sucking flat, just loosing prime while sitting. Your post just reminded me there is a change over valve to switch between tanks (both were almost full) I dont have a seperator

Oil usage appears normal amount for the fuel used
