    Laid Up and Worried

The last time I took out the 203CX was around the first of December. I got down in my back and have not had it out since. I've got gas stabilizer in a full tank and the water filter on my300 VMAX.

Now I've got trolling motor problems and may not get out for another week or two. Do you all think that this will bother the motor any? I've never let it sit for this long. Usually not more than three weeks.

    Thanks, Champfan

No! I dont think that motor will make it. Quickly pull the motor off and send it to me and I will take care of it for you!

You will be fine. I got really busy with work this summer, and didn't get anywhere near my normal amount of fishing in. My 98 203/225efi was in storage all summer down at bull shoals while I made a few quick day trips in my other rig. It had a third of a tank of gas with stabil in it. I finally got away after new years and had time to run it. I was really worried, but I put a few gallons of ethanol free premium and some seafoam in and it turned over on the 2nd crank and ran like a top.

If mine can make it June- Jan I don't think yours will have a problem!

Thanks sounds good. I haven't seen any ethanol free gas around here in a long time. I usually use 101 octane in it with the Seafoam.

I should never worry as long as I have this post!

You should be good to go. I would not be kicking up octane level to much unless your running high comp heads. Your better off with stabil/sea foam or Startron only and or Don's cocktail.

Take a look here- it's how I find ethanol free for my boats when I can.

    iPhones can be pretty handy!

101 octane? You running an XB? The higher the octane with a low compression motor does more harm than good. High Octane has a cooler ignition point than regular.

I laughed when I first read your post, then realized you don't get winter. Trust me, no worries. For all the time I've had to lay up a boat for winter up here, (4 to 5 months per yr) you probably gained yrs worth of fishing.
