Help WITH software Upgrade Info

E 150DPLSUF
SN-05153942

After a lot of truble getting software upgrades BRP finally recommended a dealer who would do them while I waited. They are 4 hours away.

After the upgrade the engine runs more erratically than ever. After a conversation with the BRP tec I found out they have not loaded the newest upgrade.

The engine history shows
Program 3030337
Revision 92343

The tech said I should have
Progam 3030378
Revision 95370

The tech did not have any info on what the upgrade I have does and that I am missing some "idle characteristics" improvements.

Can anyone explain what I've gotten and what I should have?
Is it harmful to run as is?
Is it worth a 14 hour trek through the Rockies to bring the boat home?

Ther is no BRP dealer where the boat is moored and no open water here yet for testing.

Thanks for any info you can provide!

Re: Help WITH software Upgrade Info (Springseeker)

The most current available software is Program 3030377, Revision 95370, date 01/10/2007 for 150 / SUF model engines.

FYI, I think whomever you spoke with may have inadvertently looked at a wrong line for the "Program" number, i.e. 3030378 95371 is the 175hp software.

I'm sorry to hear about the problems you are having, but considering what you've been through, I think it's time to find a competent dealer! It's not like the software you need has been available for almost 3 months...

Re: Help WITH software Upgrade Info (John from IL)

Hi John. What is the difference between rev. 92343 (what I have) and rev 95370?
Could this be causing my problems?

As for finding a dealer I have concluded this is not possible. The selling dealer was a Lund dealer forced to drop BRP by parent Mercury. I have called all the ones anywhere near me and have been refised service because I did not buy from them. BRP found the one that did do the upgrade for me-they are 4 hours away and did not do it properly.

If I can't even get a 15 min. software upgrade I have no idea how I will get a tech on the water to diagnose if the problem . My buddy who cancelled his E-Tec last year due to the long wait bought Suzuki and is really giving me the gears about this. It's very embarrassing.
