Re-routing GPS Puck on Champ 198

I am thinking about repositioning my Humminbird GPS Puck on my 05 CHamp 198 to the rear of the boat so it is close to the SI transducer. It is currently on a RAM mount now with the 898 itself. In theory this will improve my ability to navigate back to any structure I mark. I had a bear of a time running the cable from the transducer to the console (up the right side) and I wonder if there is an easier path to run the GPS puck cable through. If I take out my driver's set is there any access panel I can use? The existing wiring and steering cables seem to be really packed in in the current channel so I'm not sure I want to try that route again.

Should have left a pull string in there ... There is access to the bilge area through the tank area behind the seats. The livewell drain cable on my 210 takes that route.

Why don't you just measure the distance from the puck to the transducer, then put those measurements into your SI unit. There are settings for gps offset (can't remember the exact wording, if you can't find them just post back and I'll look on my unit.) You can do length, and left/right length offset.

Would be alot easier than moving your puck.

That would translate into a radius of about 4 feet or diameter of about 8 feet in error from the difference in placement between the gps puck and the ducer. That margin of difference could also be added to the error inherent to the the gps WAAS. Placing you even further away from the waypoint structure you're returning to.

I ran my helm gps puck to the transom it sets right above where the ducer puck is in the bilge.
There is a pull cord buried somewhere on the rear starboard side. Mine was a white banding cord. When I ran wires with it, I ran extra pull cords for future needs.
