I am having my powerhead rebuilt and I wanted to know if there is a break in period for it. It is a 1990 Evinrude 150 and at WOT it is 5600-5800 RPM.
Thanks in advance,
Marty

Chuck Norris destroyed the periodic table, because he only recognizes the element of surprise.
10 hours, over 2000 rpms, The gurus here can tell you how the procedure works. You need to keep the R's under a certain limit for a while then increase for a couple hours then short bursts to wot etc. I will defer to the guys for the exacts....
Treat it as if it were brand new, or what the mechanic says do and then still get some kind of warranty in writing or don't do it.
You'll probably have to break it in exactly the way your mechanic recommends in order
for your warranty to remain in affect. The old mechanic that does my machine work for
me has a standard break in procedure for all 2 stroke power heads 1992 and older. In
35yrs of business, he has never had even 1 power head come back. I can share it with
you if you want to know!!!
