    testimony to BBC & "Rusty63"

Just wanted to confirm what most of the BBC crowd already knows. I owe a very big thank you to ChampioNman & Rusty63.
Last year my 1993 150 johnson gave up its ghost after 12 great years of heavy use. With out hesitation ChampioNman hooked me up with Rusty63 and a great deal on an OMC factory complete power head. My family and I made a long weekend trip to Nashville from Monroe NC to get the powerhead not knowing really what to expect. When I met John it was like seeing an old friend.Since then I have called him several times for advice and he has always taken time to help.In Dec. the VRO pump stopped working on the fuel side. I figured I would have to dig deep in my pockets again but thats when John informed me that he had purchased the VRO NEW and it carried a warranty (thats thinking ahead)and shipped me the part right away. Now 3 months later it happened again and even tho he has changed companies he has taken care of me again! I recieved the VRO this week and installed it night before last and will hit the lake Friday AM along with JAVELIN to give it a try.
No where will complete strangers come together to assist each other like the BBC.Thanks Again!!!!!!! and I only hope that one day I can be as helpful to a member in need as you guys have been to me.
    Truly from the heart ,Thanks!

Re: testimony to BBC & "Rusty63" (Frank A)

I'm with you there my friend, Back in 2004 I was in the process of looking at a bass boat for the very first time, had never owned anything longer then 15 feet and 30 horse, spent 18 months reading everything I could on the bbc.
Then I went out and bought my 21x with a 225ho.
Spent a month talking to alot of the fellas on here and within a couple of weeks I was driving around the lake at near 80. Hail to all of you's
Smallmouth, ranger rodney, rusty63, champion and all the rest that make this place the next best thing to fishing.

I agree and attest 100% ........... Rusty63 (John) is one fine man with outstanding character...... His word is his bond which used to be a given for everyone but unfortunately in these times, it is a rarity......... I know that if anyone has to look at or pull a wrench on my motor it will most definitely be John.......

We on the BBC and especially in the Evinrude/Johnson Motors forum are lucky to have ChampioNman, Rusty63 and Seahorse available with just a few keystrokes to lend us a helping hand and get us on back on the water for one of our few and limited days off from work.......

And we all need rehab. But, this is a great place for some good info, much better than that other place. (I won't mention names). You actually gets facts vs rumors from alias.

Re: testimony to BBC & "Rusty63" (ChampioNman)

ChampioNman 1 question I put the vro on ran fine but didnt go far for 1st 4 hours then decided to make a long run the engine was running fine then started slowing down and cut off. pumped the fuel ball fired back up and ran fine again. I got home Saturday am. pulled the tank out of my Javelin 389t (not easy but did find out it a 41 gallon tank)) removed fuel pick up tube to inspect the check valve that John had mentioned might be sticking but my pick up tube only had a screen over it's end and it was like new.while I was there I checked the line to make sure it hadnot kinked and the tank vent tube. all seemed ok. I changed my engine and water seperator filters when I installed the vro, put new clamps on all vro hoses. Is there anything in squeeze ball that could be getting stuck on long run causing to run out of fuel?
Im hoping it was just a air pocket in water seperator but I doubt it. I got to go to Norman again Sunday guess I'll find out.
are ya coming to wylie next week? I'll have to miss it because of the TBF Western regionl tournament is Friday and Saturday on Norman....wish BBC was Sunday I'd get to met ya'll guys.

Frank, Thanks for the kind words but that is what all dealers should do.

Is this with the New pump?

Also, if I remember right you said you checked at the top of the fuel tank pick up tube for the ball and spring in the fitting?

    Re: testimony to BBC & "Rusty63" (RUSTY63)

yea I took the boat apart yesterday and pulled the tank completly out. There was no check ball only a screen and it was like new getting that tank out was a real chore but Im glad I did now I know the boat was fitted with a 41 gallon tank made in Nashville. I always thought it was 28 gallon.
Used the boat to day didnt have any concerns at all.Had my prop recupped and it ran 65 mph GPS @ 5700 rpm for several miles . Had more throttle and trim but ran out of calm water. So I think if it was running out of fuel from a hard fault concern it would have done it. I'll run it several more times this week practicing for the fed tour on norman. Let yall know if any more concerns.
    Thanks guys!
