factory operating range is 4500-5800 rpm, always run in the upper half of the range. I'm guessing the peak hp is around 5150 or so since that is where the other models develop power and have the same operating range.

The HO is "factory tuned for best performance" and does not have a stated hp rating, though most folks believe it is similar to the 250 hp engine.

It would be nice if BRP would publish RPM vs. HP/Torque curves. They wouldn't need to publish HP or Torque, just show us the curves.

Seahorse, the KW tag on the 225 HO is same as the standard 250 ETEC at 186.4KW.

You are right about the HP i believe I worked the formula once and came up converting 186.4 to about 246 H.P.don't think I am to far off.

Look at the Evinrude brochures, they have the curves for the 225 and the 150 in them, along with Yamaha's curves

Garland, your not too far off. 186.4 actually converts out to 249.9HP.

    The conversion is 746 Watts/HP.

If the E-TEC 225 H.O. has a horsepower curve similar to the E-TEC 150-HP, then it looks like this:
