    Rear Tank 203

What's the last year they made rear tank 203s? Did the TN factory just start right out with under seat tanks on everything?

2003. I have a 2004 203 gas tank under the seat that I purchase new in Oct 2003. Test drove a 2003 203 gas tank in rear before purchasing, when ordered had to get the 2004 model. Wow what a difference.

Some folks claim that properly set up, the underseat tank is just maybe 1-2 mph slower than rear. I have no personal experience in comparing.

    Re: Rear Tank 203 (Lea)

Another Champ owner here Bud Croom has a 203 with hammer 300. It's about a 76-77 mph boat light.

The rear tank I drove with a 250XB was a 76-77 mph boat with me and lighter tackle load.

I will say the rear tank one was more fun to drive, a lot more loose.

    Both are awesome boats.

Roy the TN factory never went under seat on the 187 nor the 183. They did move the 183 further forward but not all the way under the seat.

The under the seat 203's lost a few MPH just like the boat I am in now did (BC Sabre) did when they went from rear too under the seat tanks. That weight forward is tough to make up, especially when you just cram more stuff in the new found rear storage.

I don't recall a TN rear tank 203 but I could be wrong, that is getting to be many years ago now.

Don Nesbitt has an AR 203 with a 250 HPDI on it that busted the socks off 77 MPH! I don't recall how fast it was when he let me run it with the 225 before it gave up the ghost but it was not a slouch by any stretch then.
