hot foot almost sticking

hello guys

sorry if this has been answered before, i have a 2005 skeeter zx225 with a 225 yamaha hpdi. the boat has a hot foot. I was on the flats on sunday and the hot foot seems to be start sticking. I will let my foot off the peddle and it will stay down for a second and then pop up to my foot but has never stuck down and stayed down yet. I have put grease on the foot peddle and the linkage on the motor but does not seem to improve the problem. any thought would be great.

If I recall correctly, a few 6 or 7 years ago this happened to me and I believe it was a spring that was going bad on the hot foot it's self. It finally snapped when i was as far away from the launch as I could possible be. Had to use the trolling motor the whole way back, But on the positive side, found a lot of areas that hold fish that I usually drive 60 over. Call your local marina and ask them, because when it goes(and it will) it sucks. Mine was on a 2004 Zx225

Make sure you dont have something stuck around it somewhere. Everything that lands in the bottom of the boat ends up under the console eventually, lures, plastic twigs ect.
