Hi All,
Does anyone know the overall length of a Champion 186 on the trailer. Just want to be sure it will fit in my garage. Thanks to all in advance.

24'5 according to brochures. This usually means with motor straight up and down.
Thanks for replying. Does the 24'5" include the swing-away tongue or no.

Hey Steamfitter, get off your lazy rear end and go measure your 186 for the guy![]()

mine does not have a swing away tongue. It is 24'5" with the motor "up" on the transom saver. Might gain 5" at best by putting it down.
"heard it in a love song.........can't be wrong"
Hey Gitzit,
I have a 181 with swing away tongue, 6" plate. With the motor down and turned to the side, it fits in a 21' 4" garage, just barely. Would think if you have a 22' garage, you will be fine.
This is with it relatively straight, if you can angle the boat, you can get away with less length.

Thank you all for your input and suggestions. My garage is 23' but the Champ I'm looking to buy does not have a swing-away tongue. I've seen the conversion kits for the swing-away tongue and will give it a try. I might also be able to scooch the boat up a bit by scooching the winch stand forward a few inches.
Thanks again.

Watch your tongue weight if you do that. Might make towing a bit uncomfortable...

No. I am not home with brochures, but I think that was 24.5', which would be another inch longer.
