battery compartment fix

I own a 2001 203 and i am having a hard time trying to figure out how to repair the floor in the trolling motor battery compartment. i made stainless steel trays for the batteries and screwed them into the floor. apparently i didn't seal the holes well enough and now the floor seems to be rotted out. can anyone offer some advice on how to remedy this? doesn't seem like that floor is very thick either. also has anyone been able to figure out how to get 3 batteries in a 203 so you could run a 36volt? thanks for the help.

Time to learn some fiberglass repair. Your local boat dealer should have some fiberglass mesh or just about any Autozone etc should have the fiberglass mesh. Don't worry about it being pretty, the battery compartment is an unfinished area anyways.

Once you make the fiberglass repair, coat the screws with some marine silicone, and if you want to go the extra mile, place a bead of silicone all the way around the bottom of the battery tray about 1" from the outside edge before screwing the battery tray down.

thats kinda what i figured. havent learned how to post pics yet but i will try. simply laying more glass in there doesn't seem to be a permanant fix as i think the floor is rotted out, would have to cut it out and replace it
