New Member, New Champ, and a Question

    Hi All,

Back in April I picked up a 1999 Champion 193 Elite DCX with a 200 Merc Optimax. Brought the boat back to Canada with me. Its been great on Lake Simcoe and Lake Erie. 8'' slidemaster manual jackplate, 23 tempest plus and a 25 trophy. Other than a few minor problems (hydro pump for livewell not working) and a jackplate that slips, the boat has been awesome.

Running the 23 tempest, I have had the boat reach 63 mph. With the 25 trophy, the boat will run 61mph.

Just curious about what kind of speed may be possible with this rig. I'm away from the boat but will provide the prop/pad height in a couple days. I'll also try to post a couple pics.

    Welcome

What kind of RPMs are you getting with each prop? Seems to me you are a little low on the MPH...

The brainiacs will be along and get you up and running

Welcome. I was running a 193 that is still in the family, has a 200 E-Tec HO w/ 25 Fury, 10" Bob's plate. It will do 73-74 aired out, one person, half tank fuel. I can't speak to the Opti but I think you are slow.

Welcome, Drew! Glad you joined us!!! These folks will get you set....

As a general rule, the trophy wants to be a pitch LOWER than the tempest. Once you give us the prop-to-pad, rpms, etc, I expect different props will be recommended...try several.
