    Tommy Martin GPS lake chips

Any of my Champion family have any info on these GPS cards/chips for Texas lakes such as Toledo Bend or Lake Conroe?

From what I understand they overlay on the navionics to show creeks, underwater bridges, points of interest, and lots of other cool stuff. I would like to know what yall have to say on this if you have this or have heard of this.

I have the one for Toledo Bend and it is definitely worth it. It loads into the hard drive and overlays on the base map or Navionics. It shows trails with individual spots highlighted. You will like it.

How does this work? I have a couple of Navionics chips for local lakes. How can you overlay them? I guess my electronics are out-dated? I know there are upgrades from my 332C, but it has done great for me so far....

I think it only works on the newer HD units. It loads on the hard drive and when the map is displayed the trails show up on the map. One of the younger, smarter fishermen I know loaded mine for me and when I went to the lake they were on the map when I powered up my GPS. It has to be that simple for me to use it.

I didn't see where it specified what units it will work on but I hope it works on mine. I use my Lowrance LCX28C for my mapping and use my HDS 10 for side and down scan. I hope its compatible with my 28C

If Tommy Martin spills his guts on Toledo Bend, you need to be there to listen.

I drew him in an old lone star tournament back around '81. It was day 2, he was just killing the field, he had close to 30 lbs, I was somewhere in the check range at 19. We meet at frontier parks, he's still pretty hammered from the night before, after I get in, he idled to the back of the cove and puked his guts out. Dang, so much for learning something from the master today...

We take off, he runs to a grass corner in housen, makes about seven drops, has five over five, throws a marker bouy over, tells me don't move, and don't talk, just shut up and fish. Lays in the seat and passes out. I catch about 26 and end up second, wake him up in time for weigh in. Boys, that's the way you do it....

I was fortunate to be living on Toledo then, the amazing amount of talent, Tommy Martin, Larry and Donnie Nixon, Harold Allen and the bus full of wannabees (like me) was pretty special.

    I can tell you:
Don't EVER get in a card game with Larry Nixon.
Don't ever think you can hold your own with Tommy Martin.
Don't ever try to potlick Harold Allen and think you'll get away with it.

Harold Allen stood up for us in '85 when we won the Louisiana oilmans tournament, the sleeze Robert Hale thought that was his personal benefit tournament, and was protesting the heck out of us, "there's no way you two KNOTHEADS fishing the south end of this lake can beat me" Well pards, it might not ever happen again, but it sure did happen this time...Harold jumped right in the middle of it, said he watched us catch most of our fish, was wanting to take a polygraph to prove it (after I'd taken three) and was intent on beating Hale's butt just for being a punk.

I was proud to call him a friend, and was really proud when he went Champ, and got his boat running to it's potential. Had to teach him to calm down a little, after that he became king of the road.

Never heard of Robert Hale. Apparently the world thought nothing of him, For sure have heard of Harold Allen, tho not in conjunction with our Champs. Thanks, Pat!!!!

I emailed Tommy yesterday about the GPS chips. He responded quickly to tell me he is in Alabama fishing a tournament this weekend but to call his son Brian and gave me the #. Gunna call Brian today to make sure the chip is compatible with me electronics.
