    Chips in Hull Gellcoat

I really like this website. I have received quick response that is useful.

I've got a 2004 203CX with some chips on the outside strake of the hull left side. It goes down to the base composite, looks like. What is used to repair these little chips, and is any black touchup paint good enough or do I need to contact Champion to get the touchup paint?

    Thanks for more good tips,

    Champfan,

JB weld will do the trick and you wont have to use touch up paint because its black. I used this trick several times myself.

    Marine Tex!

They make a grey, but I believe you can get coloring agents. One time fix. I have a bit on my boat

I would go with MarineTex over JB Weld.

MarineTex is awsome stuff for below water line repair.
    It'll last forever!

I used some fiberglass resin on mine. Wet sanded it down gently afterwards and put black primer over it. It did it back at the beginning of May. Holding so far.
