one of my 1990 champion thru-hull fittings is broken.

Well yesterday, during a banner day of fishing, my bilge kicked on a few times so i knew i was taking in a little water. When i pulled it out i gave it a good once over and noticed a thru-hull fitting for the livewell is broken off. Looks hard to get to to replace. Where do i start? Thanks.

If the 90 is like the 89 you'll have to pull the tank. You sure it is the live well drain? They rarely break.

My bilge is up top and i have 3 holes below the engine. 1 is for the plug and 2 have thru hull fittings of which 1 is now broken. I am assuming they are for the livewell. Bad timing for pulling the tank. I just filled it before that fishing day. Although i want to replace my onboard charger and having the tank out will make that easier. How is the tank bolted down? I dont see anywhere that its bolted down. Thanks again.

OK thought you were talking about the fitting in the livewell. More than likely the pump itself has a crack in it. You'll have to pull the batteries and the oil tank to get to them. Looking at the stern from left to right will be the live well pump, live well drain, livewell overflow.

oh ok, so just the oil tank not the whole fuel tank. Thats good. Thanks for the info. This board is great. Your a huge help and a great advocate for the industry.

Just don't forget to seal it up with some 3M 4200 .

It could be the the fitting, the pump. the hose, or even just a loose clamp. If you have a chance , the best way would be to gain clear sight of the bilge and it's works, back the boat into the water, and see exactly where the leak is. Just in case there is more than one, it is best to fix it all the first time. Bilge diving isn't fun.

the thru hull fitting is broken. Nothing to do with the hose or clamp.
