What are your thoughts on extenders on my 181 with a 150 Merc Pat?
Good, bad, indifferent...
Thanks, Rob

Last weekend I was out with my bass'n budy,he has extenders on an EFI-225- 203 champ. His rooster tail was impressive,,so was his loss of power. After we arrived at the dock he came to the comclusion he must lower his engine 1/2 inches before his next run. Me I learned the trim button works both ways " UP- Down'![]()
Extenders may be a good idea,,,but watch your water pressure and unless your running a Cleaver or Chopper not tooooo much roostertail.I kinda like the idea of extenders.

It's the last piece...everything else, prop, plate, etc need to be in place, and if still needs just a *bit* to air out, then fine. 181 usually is not needed.

Got 'em on my 181 but (as Pat said) also have a B&B 23p tempest+ by Mark Croxton & 6" JP... I rarely need the full *extra* trim as the lift (both transom & bow) Mark's prop magic got me are impressive, but it's there when needed depending on load... Do the prop work 1st...
I put them on my 184 with a 150 EFI. I am at 3 3/4 below pad and still run it full trim. I was thinking about lowering my motor a bit more. What do you folks think?

higher motor with less trim is usually faster.![]()
