hot foot wireing to trolling motor

    PLEASE HELP!!

I have two hot foots which both have a black wire & a black/white wire coming out to go to the plug. Do you join black to black and black/white to black/white at the plug? And which ones are positive and which one is negative.

do you mean a hotfoot throttle control for the big motor or a foot pedal for a trolling motor? I think you may have a hotfoot confused with the trolling motor foot pedal.

I think you may mean "big foot" switches for your trolling motor. Sorry I cannot help on the wiring; suggest you ask this question over on the Trolling Motor Forum; John Jones is very helpful.

If this picture is what you are referring to, then Big Foot is the right name. Black "button" near troller handle and 2nd one just off the pix near the date

If i remember correctly, you only connect the ground or ( -) connection to the plug. Its a like a lite switch.

    Battery (+)lead to the receptacle.

Battery (-) lead to one of the leads on the foot. The other black lead from the foot goes goes to your (-) or ground connection on the trolling motor receptacle.

Then all you do is hit the switch with your foot to put power to the receptacle. Its been years since I wired one in but I think thats all it is.
