Additonal Bow Mount Sounder Unit 183cx

    Hey Guys,

I've got an extra sounder I wish to add to the bow of my 183cx. I've already got a 510c flush mounted but I want to add another unit that will mount to the deck.

My question is : Can I use power that is already run up the front of the boat?

I notice that the exisitng powercable for the 510c is wired to a pair of cables tagged "Depth 2a" it comes from a bunch of cables run up the driver side gunnel. There is a spare set of cable that comes from this bunch which are black and blue with plastic connecters on the ends. They are not in use and have a tag on them that says " Int Lt 3". Can I use those two cable to power my new sounder unit?

    Regards
    Dave Young

use a test light between any 12V wire and ground

all other switches should be in the off position except the main power switch

Which ever wire remains hot you can tap into it, " Int Lt 3" is one that if I remember correctly stays hot.

PS; I would tap into only a wire that will be cold when the main power switch is turned off.

Make sure to use the in-line fuse that's with the lCR as well.

Buy a Ram mount for the LCR if not you will wish you did in a short time.
