i have to admit i bought the BTS product and have tried it on my boat, the boat never shined so good, the white is really white and the blue just sparkles, i bought it to keep scum line off hull and it has done that really well. JMHO..
Give it a good washing and then use BTS ..... great stuff. BBS is good for coming off the water wipe-downs, but you want a good polymer sealant on it.. Both Pro-tec and BTS will give you the sealant. I have never used regular wax on my boat....Never needed to, since I have always used Pro-tec and now BTS...![]()

Agreed with Lea. Protec is awesome, and so is meguires flagship wax. I always do it by hand, never used a buffer. I'd lilke to try it though. I wax my boat probably 2 times a month!![]()
is this what you use Lea http://www.protecproducts.com/sealantpolish.html

Yes..that's it. I also use a BBC sponsor, BTS. Good for sealing and detailing. No need to use buffing stuff!!! Spray on, wipe off...once you have cleaned and sealed the pores....(YES, fiberglass has pores!)
My fiberglass guy told me to use McGuires. Wax the top once a month during the warm months. It gives protection for UV and oxidation. My 97 202 looks like it just came off the line!

to BTS and BBS - I BTS the boat once in a while, and use BBS after every time I am out. After a couple applications, the BBS goes on really quick - I can do my boat inside and out in under 10 minutes. And it looks great.
I got a new truck, and used BTS on it - it sure felt smmoooooth when I was done. Time will tell how it performs. Much easier than regular wax - I hate when you get that white haze on the plastic and trim with regular wax.
Now if I can figure out what to do with the pits on my black trailer, that turned white when I waxed it with regular wax...

Ok I placed a order for Pro-Tec , give it a try, thanks for all the input![]()
I suggest washing your boat thoruoghly with Dawn dish soap (not just standard car boat wash/soap). That will strip the old wax off, and open up the pours for the ProTec to do it's magic.
Follow the 2 step process like it states on the ProTec bottle and you will be VERY satisfied with the results!![]()
You'll really notice how EASY it is to keep clean the rest of the season. Dirt/grime doesn't stick to it's surface because of the Protec.![]()
Pro-tec also has a great Boat Wash...That's what I use....

It's one product, (Clearcoat Sealant Polish) but done in two parts. First coat looks nice. Wait 24 hrs, and do a second coat. For some reason, that is when the product does it's stuff. And as Lea mentioned, their Wash N Gloss soap is the best I've ever used. The boat looks like it's freshly waxed after washed.
I must have done something wrong because I've tried two different batches of Pro Tec sealant on my current Champ and my last one and was not happy with it. It didn't shine like I thought it would. I usually use the Meguiars Flagship Marine wax twice a year and BBS throughout the summer and have been happy with it. I have a bottle of BTS to try this year and I'll see how that goes.
