I just purchased an awesome 96 181 DCX last Summer and I absolutely love it! Champion has always been one of my favorite boats and I feel very priveledged to own one of my own. The boat didn't come with rod orgainzers and I would like to get one. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I might look?

I am not sure I would put one in a 181. I had one and used rod socks....I think it gets to cramped towards the front of the rod box. Just my opinion though. I loved my 181 and I am sure you will too!!
That's what I noticed. I have to gently slide the rods in "eyes up" and sometimes i have to jockey them around a bit to get them to go all the way in. I figured there had to be a better way. Thanks for the information. I'll be checking into the "Moose Rack" too just to see. I don't have but 3 rods right now so it's not a major issue, but That number will continue to grow.
A rod organizer in a 181 will work fine if you use 6 1/2' rods or shorter, 7 footers are a little bit of a pain. I had a rod org. in mine and switched to rod sleeves instead, much easier to deal with and you can fit more rods in there if you need to, I usually keep 12 rods in my port locker and never have any trouble getting them in/out.

I use an R & R organize...but in my 187, I used rod socks....
Socks in my 181 and 187.
My 181 has the Moose Head... It will take 7' rods on the center of the rack without problems... Left and right sides are tight for 7' rods because the hull curves up ate the bow.... I use Stick Jackets to protect my Kistlers

I saw pics of your boat in another post along with your organizer. I think that could work for the few rods that I have because I don't think any of them is over 6.5 feet. Your boat looks great!
i had a Moosehead rack in mine when we got it and i hated it...i could put max 8-10 rods in it and evern still the ones on the bottom were a pain to get out with out some struggle.....i took mine out and used all rods socks on mine...i can put over 30 in there now and still grab the one off the bottom and pull it out without any hassels
