can anyone tell me how to remove the bench seat in the 181? I know there are several ways they are put in but I haven't figured how to take this one out.
Thanks guys for your help. Mike

Need more info seats fold up, what year boat!
ITS A 1996 181. The bottom seats are three sepperate seats that fold up, with a cooler under the middle seat. the center insert in the back look like they are on a sepprate board but I can't tell.

I don't know for sure, but do they look like this? Mine has storage under the driver & passenger seats and the cooler under the middle. The bottom seats are on hinges (pull up from the back of the seat - tilt toward the bow to open). I would guess that the back of the bench is bolted from the back and you would have to get in the bilge area, remove the large carpeted access panel directly behind the seats and look for some lag bolts...

mine are simular but it doesn't have the are rest in the middle and no storage under the right or left sides. The only lids on the back deck are the two live wells and the two small cooler lids on either side. I looked in the live wells and cannot see any screws or bolts.
You must have one more lid back there...for access to batteries, oil tank, gas tank, etc....
yes that lid is there but it behind the live wells, don't se no way around them.
Yes...sorry. I did not mean to imply you could get access from there...
Feel down inside both the inner gunnel's and see if you don't feel a lag bolt. Should be about 7/16" head. Should be about in the middle of the seat base.
Gunnar glad to see your barefoot I thought I was the only one that anal about a bass boat.

Carpet was wet & I was in sock feet when I took the photo for a guy who wanted to know how to mount his Hibernet -- so, took the socks off... But yep, I am somewhat protective of my boat![]()
