    TRim tabs

I know I have seen this addressed before but, here we go again. I have a 184 Champion with a 150 EFI. I am running 62-63 at 5700 rpm's but, it seems to still be dragging in the water. I have had people look at the water line and they say it is coming out right behind the drivers seat. Is this right? Would trim tabs help get more lift? I have 14-16 pounds of water pressure also.

If you are talking about the trim tabs that you put on the bottom of the transom, I do not think that will work. Trim tabs are used more on the wider beam bay boats to help with balance. They probably will add more drag than anything.

I think you mean "Trim Extenders"...correct?

Not sure they will help or not on that particular set up.....probably need to ask Todd Morgan over on his board...

Your top end speed and RPM's seem about correct to me....I think that Merc makes power to 5600...so your right at it....What is your prop to pad measurement?....and what prop are you running?

In my case the trim extenders did indeed help on my 08 200 Elite with a bit of bow lift and about 150 rpms....with an increase of speed by 2 mph......but I was 400 rpms lower than I needed to be when I started......
