    Champ 201 Set-up chart ?

I don't see the 201's listed on the Champ set up chart...

I have a 201 with a '91 200 V6 Evinrude - 24 pitch Raker. Currently the motor is mounted on the third hole (bottom). Prop to pad is about 3-1/2".

I just picked up a 6" Pro Hi-Jacker HP for it, so here's the question:

What hole would be best to mount the motor to the jack plate - top - middle - bottom ?

Also, any harm in running a 26 pitch Raker?

    Thanks

    Middle hole...

Don't think you've got enough mule to pull a 26, sorry.

That chart is from somewhere around 2001. That was the first year for the 206. The 201's last year was 94. Since Champion provided it, I assume it only included current or recent models at the time.

25 Tempest with a bomb hub kit would be my #1 choice.

By the way, is it just the 26P Tempest's that had the problem?

    Re: Champ 201 Set-up chart ? (RudeBuoy)

slight hijack, but its about the same hull and props.

i've been running a 24 raker on my 201 with no jackplate. engine is a 1990 evinrude xp200. 65mph @ around 5500 rpms is my fastest so far, and thats plenty fast for me.
had a run in with a shoal on oneida lake last weekend and that raker is toast.
i put on my spare no name 21 pitch prop and the hole shot is incredible. top end definitely suffered and i had to mind my rpms a bit, but it got me wondering about going down in pitch a bit when buying a replacement for the raker.

was going to look for another 24 raker, but was wondering if i should consider a 23 tempest maybe.

any thoughts? anyone run this prop on a 201?

also, the "bomb kit" mentioned above. this is an adapter kit of sorts, correct? are they pricey? hard to come by?

The Mercury props have a Flo-Torq hub that allows you to change the insert to fit different manufacturer's prop shafts. This guy seems to have some decent prices on them.

What about a 23" Renegade? You won't have to worry about hubs.

hadn't thought about going with a 4 blade. i do find myself in some pretty good chop now and then though. should be good for those days, right? i'll add it to the list of options.

might be a matter of which one of these props first comes along for the right price.
