What is your set up? What JP, what prop to pad, etc....
Lea I put a Bob's hydraulic on my 188 my man mounted it on the first hole of the Yamaha. The R&R jack plate was mounted on the 3rd hole down. I am talking about the top bolts where motor is mounted to jack plate. Today found sweet spot 4 1/2 on gauge sweet spot should be at 3 on the gauge witch means he should of put the motor 3 holes down like the R&R was mounted from ChampioN.
Can't you get him to correct his error?
From what I've seen in different Champs rigged from the factory. The JP has been mounted to the transom at different heights. The top of my R&R JP is not flush with the top of the transom. Where as on other Champs, I've seen them mounted flush. With mine, this can lead to the appearance that my motor is raised too high even though I'm only running at 3'' to the pad. My engine is mounted at the 2nd from the top hole on the JP, and when I have access to a C picker, I'll re-mount the engine at the top hole. I can go higher with my engine as my WP is >25lbs, but it would be raised too high on the JP as it is now mounted.

Yes I just wanted to see where the factory mount was on the Bob's.
