tempest installation on 2004 di ho

Hey guys I assume that the adapter sleeve that is needed to go into the flo torq hub on the mercury props will mean that I dont need and cant use the spacer washer that went just inside the propeller nut on my 26 raker right?

Also- the thrust washer on my propshaft is hard to remove...I assume it comes off right? It almost looks like it's part of the housing just proximal to it.

    Thanks in advance-

The flow torq hub kit will have all the parts you need.
If you'll smack the thrust washer with a hammer it will pop right off. Really!

I put a towel on the lower part of the casing so I won't scratch it........then put some pliers behind the thrust hub and against the towel..............and then "smack" it........It will pop right off..............Roger

Thanks for the help. You just cant put a price on friendly help.

The diagrams with the kit are good but not idiot proof. I also couldnt tell which end of the hub adapter went in first- I assumed it was the easy way that allowed the hub to fall 2/3r'ds of the way in and then tap in the last 3-4cm or so.

Thanks again - If questions regarding boogers arise feel free to contact me-

So just how well do the Tempest Plus props work on our ETEC's? Thinking of trying on in place of my Raker 2

    Re: (Z21ROD)

Rod, I am running a 29 Tempest on my ETEC225HO, and on my older 225HO DI I ran a 27 Tempest. Every boat is different, but on mine there was almost 5 mph difference between the 29 tempest and the 28 Raker II. My rig requires a bunch of lift to make her run and the tempest lifted the boat better than the raker II. I loved the holeshot of the Raker II, just not willing to sacrifice the much on top end.
