I have a new one that was with my boat. Nice cover but the straps are designed to go under the boat and hook on the opposite side. Not very practical unless you like belly crawling. My old Skeeter had an Aurora that the strap went under the siderail of the trailer and back up to the clip. Who made my 2004 cover? I will buy extra straps and have my shop sew them on to work better. Thanks.
Aurora is making Champ covers, and I know they made 05 ones, but not sure about 04. I would imagine they could send you strap material or could modify your cover for you.
My shipping cover has straps like you describe...what a nuisance....
...or, for those needing new cover.. you can get pretty much whatever style you want. I just got one for my 198 that has ratchets to tighten the strap below rub rail and one down strap on either side which goes to trailer frame and back up. Or, you can get one without ratchets and more frame straps. Talk to Del or Brian Rush at Aurora. They'll fix you up...
