    got a few more mph

I had my prop reworked, guy said it was bad out of balance (Mercury Trophy) and Got my boat up to 57 mph with me and another guy in it this past weekend. 3 more mph and I would be at 60. Oh well I guess I should be happy with that.

    Would a jackplate help?

I was also was very surprised to see what a great difference a prop job could make. I would suggest to anyone who was interested in a better performing boat ,to start with the prop. BINGO

Jake, my first Champ was a '90 168SC Elite w/ a 115 Yam. Your numbers sound real familiar. Try a Tempest (3 blades). Good luck.

Chevy, Titleiest, Suzuki, Phoenix 921( still got Champion 193 )- why drive anything else?!!

Sorry, Tempest won't fit a 115. You're about there without a jack plate, but it won't make a ton of difference.

115 Merc just is sorta a workhorse motor, won't spin up many rpms, just does what it does.
