My fastrike is a 1995 and it is a good reliable motor, I did have to replace a power head last year, but I think it was due to my lack of knowledge of this motor. I had the carbs re jetted with larger jets and so far no problems.I would not hesitate to buy the motor you are looking at as long as you have compression numbers {all within 10%} and you may also want to have a "leak down" test done on all six cyl. I think up to 6% is acceptable for your motor. I hope this helps.
I have 2 60* V6's now and have had others in the past. Great motors. Keep Champion plugs in them and you should be fine with normal care. Quick revving, great power.
