Max RPMs for 225 HO Etec?

Where should this engine be running at WOT? I have heard that it should be propped around 5800 at WOT.

I have been told by my dealer to target 5700-5750 WOT. Right now I am at 5850 with a 28 raker2. I need to send it off and get it worked a bit.

I have always been told 5800 rpm"s is about correct.The limiter is a good bit higher than that,but they say when you go above 5800 rpm"s,the motor will use a lot more oil.The highest mine has been is 5800 with a 28 Bravo 1.

My '06 turned 6200 running 82.9 on my Blazer spinning a 29 TXP prop. I believe the limiter is set at 6250 or so.

As was said, once you go over 5800, you begin burning more fuel and oil.
