If you are going to lift your Venom buy a harmonic balancer puller about $20, get some large washers and 5/16" X 3" 24 pitch bolts and an eye bolt. screw the bolts into the flywheel until they bottom out and hoist away. If you use a lift ring then the flywheel nut will have to come off as the ring screws down on the crank shaft.
Plus if you ever have to pull the flywheel you'll have a tool for it.

I understand that perfectly...............but I'm not sure my harmonic balancer puller will hold the weight.........

and that takes me right back to

do I need a 3/4" fine thread eye bolt to thread into the puller,
or through it with a nut on the bottom,

and doesn't it need to be a cast eyebolt....??

    championman.............I sent you an IM

I have an old land and sea lift ring. It just bolts on with 3 bolts. They are fine thread but I don't remember the count. Basically you can have someone weld you up one.

CM. I don't think you should run the bolts all the way in. I think if they are to long they can cuase damage. Not sure if its the flow or looper that needs the shorter bolts.

    Re: Fast & Cheap (Neveredge)

I have it all answered now except the eye bolt..........my puller will work fine

the eye bolt question- doesn't it have to be a cast eyebolt and not one of those bent steel eye bolts,

and it is better threaded to the puller or through with a nut behind it..??

everything else has been answered greatly by you guys, and one guy is looking because he might know where the real ring is sold.

I appreciate all the help and I'm ready now when the weather clears to do it, aside from the bolt (and I really don't need it with other ideas I've been given)

I used one of the steel bent ones with a nut behind it to pull my 225HO .... I did weld the i bolt loop together.

    Re: Fast & Cheap (ranger1055)

A 3/8" eye bolt will work fine with a large washer on the bottom and a nylon lock nut. For lifting purposes only on a looper, they will bottom out, on a 35 amp FW this concludes this portion of the class.
