Rusty grease leaking from onder power head????

I have a grease / rust substance leaking from under the powerhead on my J150GLEOM Fastrike. It runs on the outside of the mid section and onto my T- saver bar under the lower. Any ideas on what this is? I swaped power on this motor this fall with a powerhead that came from a 25" mid and lower that may have been in salt water. I am not sure whats going on with this, but anyone who can shed some light on this would get a big ole "atta boy" from me!
    For whatever that's worth!
    Thanks,
    Vince

Please give me B button powers .

VZar, did you replace the mating gasket? did you clean all mating surfaces with gasket cleaner? did you torque everything to speck?

Re: Rusty grease leaking from onder power head???? (ChampioNman)

I had the power head installed by an OMC dealer in Delaware Ohio. I did see new gaskets that he was going to use on this project. I am not sure this individual mechanic took the time to tighten things to "spec". I use Knox Marine for all of my repairs and service now, it is nice to find a shop that is fair and trustworthy.
I take it that my power head gasket is not seated onto the mid section?
    Thanks for your reply.
I seem to be in the dark on the other posts.

I would look inside the motor pans to see if this is just intake drips, most motors will have a bit of air box residue that may look like a problem.

Ok will do, thanks for the info. Hope it is nothing to worry about.
My mechanic said he can check it out, he thinks that it may just be a gasket issue. Two hours labor and a gasket is a small price to pay to have it not "marking it territory"!
