    Another Oil Question!!!

My dealer set my 07 225Ho to run on XD 50 which is now in the tank.I Can get a great deal on some XD100--$10 a gallon(pro was given the oil). Can I just add this oil to my tank on the XD50 setting, or does my dealer have to adjust something.- Is there a advantage to running XD100 on the XD50 setting.--Can I go back to XD50 once I've run XD100 in my motor???--- Sorry a lot of questions--I'm an EX Merc guy not used to all of these choices!! (GREAT MOTOR!!!!!)

XD30, XD-50 and XD-100 will all mix without any problems, however most folks (me included) recommend delaying adding the XD-100 until the oil tank is low on XD-50.

You can run XD-100 while in the XD-50 setting mode, but I would recommend against the other way around, except in an emergency (i.e. you're nearly out of oil and the only thing available is another oil), refer to the oil section in your owners manual.

The only disadvantage of running XD-100 in the XD-50 mode is you don't get the benefit of reduced oil consumption.

You can go back to XD-50 oil use any time you want, just be sure the EMM is set to the XD-50 setting if you're making a permanent switch.

    Hope this helps,
    -John

Like John said, run it low throw the 100 in her and run it for a while then get it set up for the 100 oil and save a lot of oil. Also if you can get xd-100 for that price ......buy it all!!!!

I wouldn't run that XD 100. I buy it all from you and pay the shipping

How many gallons are you getting? Reason I ask is because if it's just a few gallons and you plan on switching back to XD50, then you might be better off leaving it on the TCW3 setting. Now if you plan on switching out completely to XD100, then by all means get the Etec reprogrammed.

Then again, if your dealer isn't going to charge anything to switch the programming back and forth .... It might be worth it to change the setting to XD100 while your using it then switch back afterwards.
